3.B.IV. BRAKES.

The lengths of levers on the foot brake equalizers of a standard Bentley should be as follows:-

Front Equalizer.
Outside levers 1.350
Centre plate lever 1.750

Rear Foot Brake Equalizer.
Outside levers 1.800
Direct Braking lever 1.875
Servo " 1.800

There was an alternative lever system produced to prevent the servo reaching its stop.

Front Equalizer.
Outside levers 1.800 (Ex.12676/7)
Centre Plate lever 1.750

Rear Foot Brake Equalizer.
Outside lever 2.450 (Ex.14670)
Direct braking lever 2.5
Servo " 1.800

The latter system has fallen into disuse as it aggravates judders and thumps. A mixture of the two systems is quite wrong.
