Dear Sirs, We beg to thank you for your letter of the 8th inst., reference Sales/TLB/DH {D. Henderson - Showroom} /RO. {C. C. Rose - Export Manager} , but regret that we do not consider it to our advantage for you to proceed to make up for us any sample batteries for test, as we understand the cost of such a battery, giving the same capacity and performance as our standard lead acid type, would be approximately six or seven times the cost of our standard battery. Therefore, for your battery to be considered, it would have to give us at least seven times the life of our standard battery i.e. 21 years, which we think you will agree is rather out of the question. In order to compete with our standard battery you must be able to give us the same capacity for approximately the same weight and at a cost which will justify the outlay.
