L. Edwards} c. to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} ORIGINAL. R8/M23.6.22. GOSHAWK - THROTTLE CONTROL. X4239 X4228 re- We are arranging the control by putting the spring which closes the throttle direct on the throttle to avoid the position of the throttle being dependent upon the slack in 2 or 3 joints. It is absolutely imperative that the controls should be fitted up in the way instructed as to angles of levers, etc, so that the butterfly valve opens slowly at first, and more rapidly afterwards. Mr. Elliott sends with this a revised instruction which should clear the matter up. It was very wrong on No.3.Goshawk (limousine) which caused some just complaints of difficulty of delicate control.
