For the attention of Mr. W.A. Robotham. Dear Sirs, Re: "Builders" Rifling and Drilling Machines. We thank you for your letter of 17th inst., from which we note that you are asking your Mr. Clay to get in touch with us in order to inspect some of the machines for which we quoted you, under working conditions. In this connection we would point out that, as stated in our letter of 13th inst., the machines which we advised you had already been purchased from the American manufacturer, are only now in the course of being shipped from the States. Nevertheless, we sincerely hope that the machines will be in operation in approximately 4 weeks' time, when we shall then be only too pleased to arrange for Mr. Clay to examine same. Since quoting you on 13th inst. we have received confirmation from America of the prices and particulars originally transmitted by cable, and take this opportunity of enclosing herewith revised quotations. We regret having to inform you, however, that yesterday we received a further cable from America, in which we were instructed to withdraw all quotations for Drilling, Reaming and Rifling Machines manufactured by the Builders Iron Foundry, in view of the fact that this concern have found it necessary to increase their prices. Will you kindly note, therefore, that the prices given in the enclosed quotations are the revised prices which we have now received by cable from America, and these are as follows: | ||
