No.2 Deep Hole Drilling Machine, with bed length 19 ft................ $11750.00 No.2 Rifling Machine with bed length 19'........... $10640.00 Standard Deep Hole Drilling Machine............ $ 4015.00 Standard Deep Hole Reaming Machine............ $ 2900.00 Standard Small Arms Rifling Machine........ $ 4120.00 As you will see from the attached quotations, the prices we are now quoting you are in sterling, and include boxing charges, freight, insurance and unloading charges in this country, and are to be understood delivered f.o.r. British Port of arrival. As regards the Deep Hole Drilling Machines with 19 ft. bed length, kindly note that it is impossible to offer these machines without motors, since these depend upon multi-speed motors to give the speed and feed range. These machines are suitable for boring or reaming the barrels except that, depending upon the customer's practice, it may be necessary to give a higher feed rate for the reaming machine than is supplied for the Drilling Machine. This change in feed rate would be supplied free of charge if the necessary information is received at the time of placing the order. The rate of production of the Drilling and Rifling Machines with bed lengths of 19 ft. are such that one Single Spindle Drilling Machine has a sufficiently large capacity to drill one 1 1/2" x 80" barrel within three hours. The rifling operation depends on the number of grooves to be rifled. We assume that your requirements will be the rifling of 12 grooves, which will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours per barrel. One Rifling Machine, therefore, will be sufficient. Our American friends go on to advise us that they recommend that a Boring Machine is also taken into consideration for the work you have in mind. The machine used for this operation is similar to that used for the drilling operation. The wood packed boring bar is pushed through the drill hole, and the length of time required for this operation varies, depending upon materials and tools, but we are of the opinion that only one machine will be required. Yours faithfully, MACHINE SHOP EQUIPMENT LTD. | ||
