Noise Tests - Clapham.

Mr. Wilks is insistent that complete removal of the centre body supports is essential to keep down noise and vibration, and certain phenomenon of 1.B.50 bear this out. We ought to try it.

We ought to get our out-of-balance weight motor (in the bump house) fixed to all our frames and measure their natural frequencies

(1) when loaded but without body.
(2) when loaded with body.

This is a new way of tackling the job which ought to be very useful to us.

Engine Mount.

Kennington should see Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} and find out what he wants bumping. The inverted V mount is being bumped.

Wraith II.

Rear Axle.

This is being bumped to see if the 0.4% Carbon tubes stand up.

Front Pan.

When the rear end is finished a new welded front pan is to be bumped. The latest 8 1/2" deflection springs should be ordered and bumped.

Shock Dampers and Rides. B.V.

Front Shock Absorbers.

We are running the latest pieces intended for production on the bump. We tried some Cast Iron bushes but these seized, possibly the clearance was too small for I/C. Now running on Bronze.

We think unequal valve loads would improve the ride and these will be tried one day.
