Query regarding a deviation from the standard taper on the Phantom III Rear Axle.

Phantom III Rear Axle.

Referring to E.2/HP.2.10.35, I note it says in the second paragraph '....it is strange that the taper is one in four instead of our standard, one in six.'

I should be glad of information as to how this came about, i.e. why our standard was departed from in this instance.
