Summary of magneto rejections on R.R. Production Chassis, Jan. to April 1928.

| Type of Magneto. | No. of rejections for elec. faults particularly low speed sparking. | No. of rejections for mechanical faults, particularly noise, etc. |
|---|---|---|
| Watford E.C.6. | 8 | 57 |
| Watford E.W.6. | 4 | 13 |
| Watford R.O.1. | 12 | 4 |
| Total | 24 | 74 |

Regarding the mechanical faults and noise, these have been dealt with in your RA/M7.4.28.

We have recently received back from Messrs. North, duly so fitted, four experimental machines of which we spoke as having been returned to them for fitting with continuous cam rings. Tests on these magnetos are being put in hand. Meanwhile the standard Watford magnetos are fitted with built-up cam rings.

In regard to the electrical fault of poor low speed sparking, we have given some amount of thought to the principles which are involved in this direction, and as stated in our EFCL/T21.4.28 we have in preparation a report and some conclusions which we propose to issue shortly.
