Stromberg Carburettor File 1033 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/TAS.{T. Allan Swinden}3/SW. 13th March, 1941. The Zenith Carburetter Co., Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex. For the attention of A.E.Palmer, Esq. Dear Sirs, AAV.25 Carburetters. We thank you for your letter AEP/LT of the 7th March. We have now had an opportunity of discussing with Mr. Fisher the various points raised, and would make the following comments. The item numbers refer to the numbers in your letter. We are in complete agreement on all items not commented upon. Item 5. Pump cylinder diameter. We understand that on the main bodies which you intend to use the pump cylinder is of larger diameter than on the AAV.25 model. This we think should be left as it is, as it may help us. Do not therefore reduce it in diameter. Item 10. Suction operated Ignition. We agree with your scheme for inserting a small diameter tube in the throttle body of the 36 m/m unit. The hole should be drilled so that one half its area is masked when the throttle is completely shut. Mr. Fisher tells us that in the case of the 30 m/m throttle bodies, you will be making your own castings. In this event, we should like you to provide a boss on the casting but leave it undrilled. Items 13, 14 & 17. Choke & Throttle Levers. We return your drawing EX.909 with the necessary dimensions marked. | ||
