We should like both levers to be of the plate type, and there is no objection to increasing the length of the distance piece behind the choke lever.

Whereas the throttle lever should be secured by a nut, this is not essential in the case of the choke lever, and you may rivet the end of the spindle over, or secure the lever in any way you wish.

We agree that it would be better to incorporate the throttle stops at the same side as the throttle lever, and you may do this as you wish.

The lever on the other end of the spindle had been used to anchor the throttle return spring as well as operate the pump and provide throttle stops.

This is a poor arrangement, and we should be glad if you would incorporate a hole in the throttle lever to which we may attach a spring.

In brief, we are now asking for a plate throttle lever incorporating throttle stops and an anchorage for the spring. The lever at the other end of the spindle will only be required to operate the pump.

We enclose a drawing ECD.1387, showing the manner in which the spring was to have been mounted. We leave it to you to place the anchorage hole, so that we can use a similar spring in a substantially similar position on the other side of the carburetter. We shall cast a boss on the induction pipe in order to anchor the other end.

Do not worry about any special finish on the carburetters. The only modification we would ask is for hexagon headed plugs beneath the main jets in place of the present slotted plugs.

We confirm having asked Mr. Fisher whether it would be possible to obtain AAV.16 (Stromberg No. 380042) carburetters having 15/16" chokes, and-a 1/20 gallon burette for use on our Mileage Tester.

Yours faithfully,
