X.7770 E̶.̶7̶8̶3̶0̶ Our impression was that this would first be produced as super sports, and then for general production. This would enable us to keep it dark better, because as a closed sports car the coachbuilders would take less notice of special instructions for the changes in the chassis frame. Actually I believe we should do best to bring it in simultaneously for general production. There is no need or advantage of our sports chassis being any different to our production (general). It appears to me that it would cause no end of trouble to have them different. It should be remembered that we already have ordinary closed bodies running on EAC.1 and EAC.7. and there should be no difficulty in doing the same for EAC.10. The difference between this and EAC.7. is extremely little as far as the body is concerned. If we could judge EAC.10 for general purposes as an enclosed sports car I should have such a body made for it, but if you think this doubtful then let us have something like I am using on EAC.7. - fixed cabriolet de ville. In any case I should use underframes, or the system used in our sports bodies, which enables the body to be made and sent to Derby for fixing on the chassis. The body on EAC.7. at present at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence is the most comfortable I have ever been in, largely due to the improvements in the chassis. I am terribly anxious to get this EAC.10 moving as quickly as possible, otherwise it may be too late, so don't let it be stuck for a body of some useful kind.
