Gaps between Panels.

We suggest that, if we are to avoid the use of beadings around the doors etc, we shall have to reduce the number of joints in the deck surface, and make the gaps finer. We have some suggestions to make, when and if we build another body of this type.

Tonneaux and Hood Cavity Covers.

The fixing of these does not seem to be adequate. To get them right we shall be forced to design them ourselves. They serve a special purpose and we shall not find suitable fittings amongst standard hardware.
We have found it necessary to stiffen the hood cavity covers by means of of aluminium stiffeners in order to make them keep their shapes. The hinges are too flabby.

Tail.

The side panels of the tail shewed signs of springing out. We have held them in by more adequate stays.
In future we shall avoid the double tail [REDACTED] split.

We apologise for making these comments and hope that they will not bee looked upon as complaints. We are very pleased with the body and all the patient care which you have taken to make the effort a success. The body has many new features and we feel that it is a very satisfactory first attempt, especially in view of the rush which had to be made to complete it in the specified time.
We shall take the first opportunity of letting you see the car and of going over all these details with you Mr Carpenter.
No doubt "Sales" will furnish you with their views in due course.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
H.I.F.Evernden.

to "R".
We have since seen Hoopers, and they have seen the car.

"Sales" have asked us to make another similar body at Hooper's so that they may over come-all the defects.
