11th January, 1940.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to telephone conversation this afternoon, we believe that the first point raised in your letter of the 9th January may be similar to that contained in your letter of the 31st October reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}

As explained, we should like to be of assistance but unfortunately there are certain difficulties in the way of carrying out the modifications you require and these are briefly outlined in our letter of the 3rd November HEP/HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}21, as a result of which we believe that you were intending to explore alternative means.

The second portion of your letter in regard to tyres is receiving immediate attention and we hope to give you a full reply in the course of a day or so.

Yours faithfully,
For DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD.

Car Manfrs. Division.
