In reply to your memo we are not at all keen on doing any experimental work with our Trials Cars which is likely to give rise to any trouble. It has been shown how undesirable it is for us to do this, in trying out the VM 20 moulded clutch lining, which has let us down badly and we have had to remove it. Perhaps you will tell us what would be the result of any silting of the top filter so far as the performance of the car is concerned, in the case for example of a trial run being given. You will appreciate that we cannot afford to run any risk of the car giving trouble whilst on such important work. Perhaps you will let us know what risk there is. Cx.{Major Len W.
