Has Packard type crankshaft and new big ends and main bearings in AC.6. New standard pistons.

Following the running in note half torsional period, produce to make obvious by reducing the friction loading on the spring drive.

Reset spring drive normal and run 10 hrs. full throttle and 10 hrs. at 1/4 load.

Guards to be fitted around the unit in view of the special balance weights.

No.5. Bed.

Phantom No.3 Unit.

Continue power curves as follows,

(1) New standard 4 port heads Ex. No.9 with and without exhaust silencer.

(2) Filters to fit LeC.5401 (E.88760) camshaft at same time refit "continental" high compression cyl. heads. Return No.9 heads to shop.

Check power with and without exhaust silencer as before but with .012 tappet clearance.

Check for bounce and if none up to 4500 R.P.M. fit Bentley single springs. in simplest way and recheck bounce.

Check slow running with tappet clearances of .012, .016 and .020.

Continue oil consumption runs.

Deepened ring grooves and comparitive consumption on Castrol C.W.

(1) Trueness of Wraith bores when in position.
(2) Comparative cost of Phantom III liners.
