1305. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.2/MH.{M. Huckerby} Toledo Woodhead Springs Ltd., Toledo Steel works, SHEFFIELD, 1. 31st. March 1938. For the attention of Mr.Stenhouse. Dear Sirs, We are very anxious to test some samples of your road springs, which we understand will be produced in the full American method with the necessary equipment. We are therefore sending you a print FB.3639 which shows the basic requirements for a particular type of spring. In this way we have given you the minimum limitation so that we hope you will be able to produce an economical first quality spring. From the blue print of the Bentley spring which we let you have in September you will see the complication of our present lubrication system. We should far rather use the interleaving as used on the latest American product. As we understand that you are now in a position to supply sample springs we should like you to let us have a drawing and quotation for a spring to piece No.FB.3643, 1050 lbs. for quantities of 2,000. We shall also be interested in the price of the same spring for quantities of 500 and 4,000. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
