RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.5/MA.29.5.34.

Referring to our memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.3/MA.16.5.34., in which we have asked for a new set of Cadillac type automatic tappet mechanism for P.II engines (to LOP.E.84593) - will you please have this set made with the following modifications

(1) Oil supply scheme as shown on LeC.3876.
(2) Plunger clearance (diametral) reduced to.0005"
(3) Eccentric clearance on shaft to be .003"
(4) Spacing springs to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1360
(5) Ball valve seatings to be spherical - of same radius as ball and giving movement of .006" plus 3.
(6) One spare set of 12 plungers to LeC.3886 - poppet valve type.

Will you also please have two cylinder heads made to E.84568 - LOP.E.84592 - valves and fittings for same to E.84593. No sets of automatic tappet mechanism are required for these cylinder heads as existing sets will be used.

These two cylinder heads should have central feed only for the oil to rockers - the three point feed at present shown on P.II automatic tappet heads is not necessary.

Note. A complete set of modified tappets has been instructed already (By/CS5/EH.25.5.34.) - we wish these to go through as instructed.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.
