In reply to your memo TBB4/L18312.

More than a week ago we had already decided to put six [typed over XXXXX] axles through without aluminium liners in the axle tubes and I believe some of these are now almost ready for test.

With reference to the aluminium liner in the torque tube. This is a matter Mr Bailey will have to take up, and give us some instructions as to heavier shaft as I believe it is Mr Royce's wish to increase the diameter of the shaft before removing the intermediate bearing.
