TELEPHONE 8081 (7 LINES). TELEGRAMS: "ROVER," COVENTRY. SBW:ME. THE ROVER COMPANY LTD. COVENTRY, ENG. Fenruary 6th 1935 W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd, Derby. Dear Robotham, I am mystified about your car, because our Service Manager (who is very reliable) tells me that definitely the over-run noise was eliminated in your wife's car when it left here. I do not see how it could very well get back again. I am wondering if there is some other noise that has escaped our notice. The brake load distribution should not vary with use, and it seems to me that you may have got grease on the front shoes. We do have a little trouble with it working out of the front hubs at times. Our Hayes transmission is still performing satisfactorily except that we are not quite happy as to its efficiency. General Motors, however, appear to be still interested and are continuing to take out patents. With regard to your wife's car. I suggest you go on another thousand miles or so and at some convenient date let us have another look round it. We can at the same time then work in the normal running adjustments. Yours sincerely, S B Wilks | ||
