FOR ROLL 3rd February 1936.

J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Whitfield, Esq.,
29, Hertford Street,
Coventry.

Dear Mr. Whitfield,

I shall be pleased to see you on
Wednesday at 2.30 p.m., to discuss any matter you wish.

I enclose the photomicrograph of the iron
which is thought to be so suitable for a braking surface.
The magnification is 100 diameters and the specimen was
picric acid etched.

If as the results of any experiments you
may carry out you are able to produce iron having this
micro-structure regularly, we should be interested to hear
from you.

I am,

Yours truly,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
