If we use the S.U. carburetter on the Bensport the control on the S.U. carburetter is only used for starting, it is not intended neither does it work as a mixture control so it is doubtful whether it is worth while taking this control up the steering column. One point we criticise on the J.3 type control is that the normal position for the headlamp is very close to the retarded position for the ignition. On the Peregrine we have had to use the starting handle a good deal and have been deceived by thinking the ignition was retarded and have afterwards found that we were looking at the lamp control lever. After having run J.3 and Peregrine we think the dimming control on the steering column is a definite backward step compared with the foot control switch. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
