X 115. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M19.7.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X.7240 X.5240 X.4027 X14553 re. CONTROLS ON STEERING COLUMN. We thank you for your H33/M16732. re. the above, and note your remarks. In the case of the Bensport we have catered for a mixture control on the steering column, although we were aware that SU. carburetters are to be used, since the Bentley, using the same carburetters, has a mixture control in this position, and also we feel that a mixture control on the column is a sales feature on an expensive sports car. We cannot have a foot dimming switch on Bensport; there is no room for it. On RR. cars we could do so, and do do so, but SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has instructed the steering column control, and we have adhered to this. The RR. scheme for the P.2, J.3, and 25 HP. and Peregrine is nearly completed.
