Oy. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/R.5.7.37. Dear Oy., I hear indirectly that you are in England. Needless to say, we should like you and the family to come and stay with us when you can manage it. Possibly Norma and Diane could come up for a few days during the week sometime, but I expect you are busy 'house hunting'. Our re-organisation is going on at high speed. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is doing a remarkably fine job. in another 12 months' time, I don't think that even our best friends will recognise us. Manning will have told you that we have been 'flirting' with him on producing bodies in quantities. I hope we shall be able to work out something with him, because it would be nice to keep the business in the family. One of our biggest difficulties is to live down the universal impression that Rolls-Royce can afford, and are very willing to pay, twice as much for an article as anyone else would expect to pay. I should be very interested to discuss with you the possibility of getting good road springs made at a reasonable price in this country. Yours sincerely, | ||
