Dear Mays,

Sorry I missed you at Donington yesterday, but I did not expect you to vanish so soon. The reason I did not stop and talk to you before going round the track was because we wanted to make use of the available daylight.

In case I do not see you before you go to South Africa, I hope you pull the race off, and that the new axle shafts do not let you down.
