20/25 Chassis - 'U' Series - New Car for "R" - 20.G.IV.

In order that experimental instructions may be completed as soon as possible, the following is a summary of all memos received for this chassis.

The complete car will be a Special Touring Saloon (exterior untarnishable finish) to N.Schemes 3327 and 3328, with a Park Ward body. It will include all the features instructed for the 2nd. half of 'T' series, the diamond engine mounting and radiator now being run on the 19.G.IV. - 10,000 miles, and the following additional items :-

Engine.

1. Balanced Crankshaft with 2" crankpins and 2.25 journals on the lines of LeC.2348. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to give the final instructions.
2. Valve Lift increased .050 by new cam forms. The standard rockers will be used but new valve springs may be required.
3. High Compression Piston 5.7 to 1. Drawing No.E.57122.
4. Connecting Rods 7.950 centre to suit 2.00" crankpins.
5. Exhaust system to N.Sch's.3285, 3286, 3287. The front expansion box will be fitted. The forward suspension bracket requires scheming to suit the equaliser cross member positioned 31.500 from back of dash. Check position of rear silencer and heat shield as shown on N.Sch.3325. The extended swan neck should be fitted.
