(9) We should like any information that you can pick up on the progress that has been made by General Motors on measuring noises produced by a tyre and the suspension of a motor-car in the Sound Laboratory which they have built on the Proving Ground.

(10) We should like you to ask Mock why Americans use such small diameter induction systems, and whether they have given up the idea of getting horse-power at higher rpm. Mock might also be able to tell you of the latest wrinkles with regard to specific fuel consumption. We should like to have consumption loops which represent the best that is being done with the average American motor-car.

(11) We should like to know whether there are any develop-ments with regard to less costly exhaust valves to withstand lead attack, also the increase, or otherwise, in the use of cast iron crankshafts.
