X4239 BY/Shn6/DR.16.8.22. RE "GOSHAWK II" - CARBURETTER CONTROLS. 12½° THROTTLE VALVE. In order that the Works may prepare for fitting the 12½° Throttle Valve to Production chassis without - 1. interfering with the present programme for the first 20 chassis 2. causing scrap or modification to existing accelerator pedals and stops Mr Bailey instructs that we produce 20 sets of the following parts:- E.52107 - Lever.(Acc:Shaft on Dashboard) made from forgings E.13504 and brazed to form Control Tube Unit complete as shown on drawing E.51576. The new Lever E.52107 replaces E.51410. E.52101 - Carb:Throttle. - assembled in Throttle Spindle E.50524 complete with the Lever E.50987, but with the angle between the thr:Lever altered from 32½° to 39° as shown on sketch below. E.52100 - Air Intake. - Pattern for E.51462 should be modified to produce this, but it may be found possible to obtain clearance for the vertical pull rod by filing out a recess in the wall of the existing air intakes. With the above units ready, it should be possible to make the changeover any time (when instructed by Mr Bailey) with the minimum inconvenience. The new drawings E.52100/1/7 herewith to be issued to all departments concerned. RECEIVED IA 1933 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SCLS BY/Shn. | ||
