-6- Exhaust Blown Manifold. This complaint arises generally on fast driven cars. It was agreed that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} should get out a scheme for washers with steel insertions as lately adopted for the 40/50 h.p. Hydraulic shock absorbers. The same remarks apply as in the case of the 40/50 h.p. Rear Axle Thrust. The Works is under the impression that this trouble does not arise on present production with the improved type of thrust, - therefore, the case of Abelson, which is that of a new car delivered last September, is to be specially gone into by Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} and Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} The chassis number is GEN-69. Servo Jaggers. It was agreed that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} should look into a flexibility scheme for adaption to the 20 h.p. Starter Motor failures. This job is dying out, and whereas considerable trouble used to be experienced with cars on test, there is little or none now. Steering wobbles and joggles. These can be dealt with. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}'s practice now is to change both worm and nut for the latest design, and to charge the customer, if possible. The change to the latest design has to be effected whether paid for by customer or not, as there is no longer any stock of the old type. Springing. The same remarks as in the case of Phantom I. and the scheme with springs grooved for lubrication is being tried out and will soon be available. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} | ||
