RE : FRAMED INSTRUMENT PATCH.

We are informed by Sales that in one or two cases the glass of the framed patch of instruments becomes cracked, and that when this happens we have been asked by the coachbuilder concerned to pay about £2. for the labour involved in removing the broken glass and refitting the new one. We think there is something wrong with this.

To remove the glass it is only necessary to disconnect the wires and pipes from the instruments and remove the patch from out of the back of the board, when about 10 screws have to be undone.

Would Derby please give us some indication as to what they think about the operation.

We have under consideration a revised patch in which the instruments have individual glasses.
