For the attention of Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Ll. Smith.

Dear Sirs,

Re 13 1/2" Driven Plates.

We would confirm telephone conversation of this afternoon when we advised that we were experiencing extreme difficulty in producing 13 1/2" driven plates due to the comparatively soft condition of the Ferodo No.6 facings. We have endeavoured to build assemblies since yesterday midday; facings are following the crimp of the driven plate disc.

As arranged, however, six plates are being despatched to you tonight per passenger train, and we would ask you for your earliest possible comments after tests have been carried out on these assemblies. Furthermore we should appreciate your advice as to whether you are desirous of our forwarding further similar units.

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED.

A.M. Shinkins.
