To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. X328 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}9/KW.13.10.36. Phantom II Gearbox Fabric Coupling. G.82032 Hardy Fabric. Torsional Rating Test. The attached curves show the relation between torque and angular movement of the coupling submitted (which incidentally was not new) between 300 lbs/ft. anti-clockwise, and 500 lbs/ft. clockwise torque, movements being recorded relative to the free position. Readings were also taken from 0 to 500 lbs/ft., then back to 0 lb/ft. torque, after slackening all nuts to remove any "set". If the nuts were not released after taking a test, then the "set" after loading to 500 lbs/ft. clockwise torque, and deloading, was practically nil. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/W.Bell. | ||
