(4) (C) modified to have double the radii in the sharp corners and a little more metal on the broken part :-

Same tests but omitting the shock engagements as these were considered an excessive condition.

Slight distortion has taken place but the parts are in good condition and not cracked. The smaller driving surface has not worn.

(5) "Concertina" 3rd speed coupling to prevent gears coming out of mesh.

4 hours full torque on dynamometer.
10 ascents and descents of Bwlch-y-Groes.

This is the first sample of this coupling to be tested and is so far satisfactory.
