HARDY

Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Hardy.

We are in receipt of your favor of the 4th instant, reference as above, and are very interested in the data you give us in the second paragraph of the same.

In regard to the Rollers and Cams which we have in hand for you, we would report that we have had considerable trouble in getting them to run correctly in the steering box which you left with us for this purpose, and after spending a considerable time on this we have found that the fit of the serrated pin in the rockshaft in the gear you sent us is a very poor one, and actually allows the roller to take up a dimension .009" lower than it should do according to the drawing.

This being the case it would seem that the box you have sent us is of very little use to us for the purpose of checking up our parts, and we are therefore proceeding to make these parts, both the cam and the roller as near as possible to the drawing dimensions as we can, taking into consideration the fact that we have no testing fixtures for the same.

You may rest assured that this work is being pushed through as quickly as possible.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times,
We are, Yours faithfully,
for ADAMANT ENGINEERING COMPANY, LIMITED.
