X1300 Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.15/KW. 4th July, 1935. The Adamant Engineering Co.Ltd., Dallow Road, Luton. For the attention of Comdr. Matravers. Dear Sirs, We are anxiously awaiting the two experimental double tooth cams and rollers which you are making for us, and we should be glad if you would let us know when we may expect to receive them. If you have had any trouble with them due to the reduced crowning of the tracks, we should be very interested to hear about it. We have just dismantled the American gear which gave satisfactory results, and we find that the crowning of the track is about 0.002" and that the bedding extends over almost the whole depth of the track. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
