ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO BE ADDRESSED TO THE COMPANY. TELEPHONE WILLESDEN 1136 (4 LINES) TELEGRAMS: AYTESPEEDO, CRICKLE, LONDON. PLEASE QUOTE OUR REF. HRB/W. EFCI/AD. RECEIVED 29th August, 1930. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. Dear Sirs, In answer to your favour of the 27th instant, we have gone very carefully into this matter and we would state that we cannot find any possibility of making an A.T.Speedometer give an increased reading. Any such things that we can think of that might occur in a Speedometer, such as Hair Spring catching up etc. would tend to slow the instrument or stop it recording altogether. If Mr.Fowler Clark will be so kind as to return this particular head to us we shall be very pleased to investigate the point carefully, but we really cannot think of any reason whatever to cause a Speedometer to commence reading faster, after having previously recorded accurately. We are entirely at your service to discuss this or any other matter. Assuring you always of our best attention. Yours faithfully, for A.T.SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD., H.R. Buckland Director. | ||
