RE EXPERIMENTAL CAR from FRANCE.

With reference to the above and your sheet attached, the car 1649 returned to the works yesterday morning and as same is not running very satisfactorily I do not think it is wise to run the car further in its present condition. The following are a few points which I intend to give attention:-

1. One of the big end bearings failed and will have to be re whitemetalled. Holgate says that this happened when quite near Derby yesterday morning and he cannot give any explanation as regards failure due to oil pressure. On examination it would appears that the bearing has been short of oil, bearing number is No.5. The above I think is another point in favour of oil supply to all
