Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LBH{Mr Hall - Aero Design Engineer}/7/MJ This letter handed to R.M. 23rd July 1934 Messrs Rolls-Royce Limited., DERBY. For the attention of Mr.A.W.Hines. Dear Sirs, Experimental Dept. I thank you for your letter of the 21st inst. There has apparently been a little misunderstanding with regard to the object of my first letter to you and I enclose a copy of this in case it is not available in your office. We have at present no desire to sell anything but are most anxious to have the apparatus tested by the foremost people in the country. I enclose a rough sketch showing the design of the silencer and this will serve you better than any patent specification. There are five different patents pending. I should be very grateful if you could come to a speedy decision whether or not you could carry out some preliminary tests. Yours faithfully, HUNTINGTON, HEBERLEIN & CO.LTD. J O Boving Copy of letter NB. This reply was handed to RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} & resulted in the correspondence when our dept explained that this was due to a misunderstanding & that our dept had given particulars for a specimen silencer to be built for a 25 h.p car. | ||
