Engineering modifications and outstanding items for Peregrine engines 2 and 3.

re Peregrine.

With reference to your memo WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}1/T.13.9.32, a meeting was held of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to investigate the position regarding the various items outstanding for Peregrine, and the following notes were taken:

(1) Engine Mounting.
It is certain that the engine mounting on Peregrines 2 and 3 will have to be modified. The improved schemes are in hand with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and WW.

(2) Cylinder Head.
It is agreed that the cylinder studs on Peregrines 2 and 3 shall be increased from 1/4" to 9/32" dia.

(3) Camshafts.
Peregrines 2 and 3 have been instructed with camshafts to temporary cam forms, but two new forms are required with short toes, for the final camshafts that will be used.

(4) Petrol Pump.
Instructions for Peregrines 2 and 3 have been issued, but an improved scheme - LeC.3184 for cutting out the noise of the operation has been issued, and will be instructed for the later chassis.

(5) Extra Cylinder Lubrication.
Peregrines 2 and 3 are being built up similar to Peregrine 1 in respect to the control unit for the extra cylinder lubrication, but it is certain that some modification is required. A revised scheme is in hand dealing with this point.

(6) Propellor Shaft.
Peregrines 2 and 3 are being instructed with the WW. scheme of shortened propellor shaft, but it is expected that further modifications may be required to arrive at a satisfactory
