x3117 Experimental Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}6/KT. December 5th 1933. Donald Sessions & Co. Ltd., 906 Harrow Road, Willesden, London. N.W.10. For the attention of Mr.Donald Sessions. Dear Sir, We are in receipt of your two letters of the 4th inst. for which we thank you. (1) We confirm that we have no objection to your fitting jacks to customers cars if they are up to the standard of finish which we saw and approved of on the set which you demonstrated to us on the 1st inst., and provided that the shafts of the rear jacks are 1.5" longer. (2) In the event of standardisation we should require :- (a) The main thread to be a square thread of the same diameter as the buttressed thread. (b) The sheet metal cover to have exactly the same type of lip as on the original Mark II jack which we are testing, and the same thickness (19 Gauge). We do not wish to use a thinner gauge casing than this. (c) The lid{A. J. Lidsey} closing members to be lipped as on the original Mark II Jack and to fold into the casing to make an efficient water and mud seal. (d) The shaft extension tube to be rivetted to the jack screw spindle in such a manner as to produce a finish similar to the present 20/25 HP. car jack. cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
