x6183. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tst.8/MA. 15th October, 1935. Car radio Mr.R.E.Dennis, Messrs.Dennis Bros.Ltd., Guildford. Dear Mr.Dennis, I have received a letter from Mr.Knight of Messrs.Philco in which he states that you have completed 10,000 miles running with a condenser fitted to the dynamo voltage regulator. I was very interested to hear of this as in our experience the fitting of a regulator condenser is usually accompanied by failure of the regulator points due to the intense discharge characteristics of the condenser at make. Quite probably you have arrived at a suitable compromise in respect to condenser capacity and design and I am wondering whether you would be good enough to either loan me the condenser in question or give me exact details of the construction of the same and its capacity. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
