gauge containing a coloured liquid of density a little greater than petrol, differentially connected to the two points of the meter tube at which a difference of pressure is produced by the flow therethrough, and indicating by the statical depressions of this column of coloured liquid the petrol flow taking place in the main tube; the indications being according to a certain well defined law."
