| +206. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.20.12.33. c. W.O.B. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rear Brake Equalisers - Bentley and J.3. Referring to the use of spherical bearings on these equalisers, Tool Department have made suggestions for modifications to N. Sch.3887 to reduce cost and facilitate the work. Herewith is N. Sch.3912 showing the suggestions, viz. the spherical bush is increased in diameter to give .050 of shoulder and also carried to the centre of the sphere, which facilitates gauging. As this calls for new bracket forgings, we have taken the opportunity to remove the brazed in ends and use solid tubes again. This enables existing levers to be used. These modifications apply also to N. Sch.3898 for J.3. N. Sch.3913 shows the modification to the end brackets in this case. GRY{Shadwell Grylls} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
