[Handwritten]: GRY{Shadwell Grylls} x206 Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.23.12.33. [Handwritten]: See me # Bentley Brake Drum Fastenings. ---------------------------- Herewith are N.Sch's: [Handwritten in margin]: Instruction to 4SIV N. Sch.3920 shows a modification immediately applicable, viz. the substitution of bolts for the present studs. The existing holes are opened out and in the case of the front drums, the next rib is gashed opposite the holes to pass the bolt. This is not necessary on the rear brake drums. In addition to the superior driving soundness of the bolts it should be more possible to rivet them up effectively. N. Sch.3916 shows a scheme suggested for future, .250" dia. bolts being substituted for 2-BA, existing pieces being modified only as regards the pitch circle dia. and No. of bolts.
