We recently sent the Continental Phantom III Demonstrator to the Berlin, Vienna and Geneva Shows. The driver complained on his return that he had experienced considerable trouble with the tappets of the automatic valve setting, and that between the 16th of February and 22nd of March he had had to attend to the tappets eleven times. On one occasion he had to dismantle the rocker shaft (group A.{Mr Adams}) and clean the tappets. In addition he complained of a knock in the transmission when reversing, particularly when hot, and also of reactions in the steering. I am giving you the above information, as it is possible that cars in customers' hands are giving the same trouble. Tr.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance} [STAMPED: J.S. 6 APR 1937] | ||
