D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Rowe. Report No. W.48. Delivery Date: 10.3.34. Type of Body: Drop Head Coupe. Mileage: 56,084. Date attended to: 6.10.37. Owner's Complaint: Noise in transmission. Cause: The offside axle tube was found broken at the flange where it joins the crown wheel casing. The axle tubes were of the weak type. Work done: Fitted service rear axle complete. Remarks: Owner has been informed that the noise, of which he complained, was caused by wear of the pinion thrust bearing. Depot Sheet No. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}290 was issued 26.9.35, instructing inspection at this point when cars available at Depots. Axle tubes changed on cars running in France. Strengthened type tube fitted on all chassis from 51st chassis in F.{Mr Friese} series. Further strengthened tube used from 186th chassis in K.{Mr Kilner} series. Complaint made by: Owner.
