40/50 Tool Kit and Oil Syringe and Lucas No.40 Oiler.

Commencing Chassis No. 16-YG and onwards, instructions are issued for the oil syringe in the tool kit to be discontinued, and its place taken by Lucas No.40 Oiler (in conjunction with Enots grease gun).

We presume it was considered that the Lucas No.40 Oiler was adequate for lubricating such parts of the chassis as were not lubricated by means of the Enots grease gun.

We recently had a complaint from a customer that certain parts of the chassis not covered by the Enots grease gun could not be adequately lubricated by the Lucas No.40 Oiler, notably the spherical joints, governors, engine coupling and torque tube etc.

As a result of this complaint, we have gone into the matter and think there is a good deal in what the customer says. We shall be glad if you will give this matter your consideration.

In connection with this complaint, we have, in order to satisfy the owner, sent him an oil syringe.

We shall be glad if you can for future production, consider the question of providing Enots lubricators on parts of the car where these are not at present provided, where it is difficult and a tedious job to lubricate by means of the Lucas No.40 oiler.

In regard to cars delivered, i.e. approximately 295, BJ. has asked in connection with this complaint what it is proposed to do in regard to these cars, i.e. whether we should supply an oil syringe.
