HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. to C. CX.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} ORIGINAL 25HP. REAR APRONS. re. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LID{A. J. Lidsey}1/AD25831. Y4531. We did not give you a complete design for the rear apron as we asked that it be an exact replica of that for P. 2., N. 2. series, designed by BY's dept, and approved by ourselves and Sales. This apron had no pots, but a complete ridge. We would be glad if BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} would kindly set out such an apron, omitting the toolbox lid{A. J. Lidsey}, and send it to us for our remarks. An indication of such an apron is on N. sch. 3273. with a request that Derby would make a scheme. If no remote control to the reserve in the main tank is available until 101 in 'T' series, the knurled knob should be allowed to protrude through the apron, and a small semi-circular plate attached to the apron would serve to indicate the 'on' and 'off' positions. We have previously pointed out that the cover on the K.{Mr Kilner} S. petrol gauge can be left off when an apron is fitted if it is desired to lower the ridge. In the scheme we saw we did not realise that the pot at the rear had to be taken off the apron to turn on the reserve. That is not at all possible.
