-4- Hyll/R.18.2.35. Steering Wheel Controls. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} stated that he has a new scheme ready to give improved appearance. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said the present ones have a drab and unfinished appearance. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will examine the new scheme together. Improved drain cock. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said a new scheme is ready and he will go over this with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} before issue. Ventilated Dynamo. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has ready the scheme for a cradle mounted ventilated dynamo and enquired if there was any objection to cradle mounting. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said he had no objection. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will give date of issue to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Improved Oil System. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will give a date for this at next meeting. A larger oil pump is ready but will not be issued until whole system is ready. Gears generally. After some discussion it was decided that Hardy II should be put on to all gear problems and be made responsible for the producing of all gears to a satisfactory standard of quietness. He will work under Ey's guidance and will collaborate with Norman, Pritchard and everyone else on gear work. De-centralisation of Experimental Units. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} requested Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} to arrange for units such as gear boxes, electrical units etc. to be produced in the specialised departments of the works so as to relieve them of work which was not purely of an experimental nature. | ||
