Thank you for your note re the Bentley.

The tyres fitted to the wheels were 6-ply. We should also like to have your opinion on the 4-ply tyres.

I want to arrange for Mr. Ward to come out and try the all-steel body, and I might come with him and bring 21-G-IV out with me. This being so, when you have completed the 15,000 miles, which can include the running done by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, we should like you to go easy with the car so that it will not be broken up before we arrive.

The valve seats seem to be in worse shape than on previous cars. Of course this is the first time that you have run a Bentley on lead in France, and so we must not expect too much. We find that in spite of the fact that we asked for these valves to be stellited they were not done, and they are all straight silchrome valves.
