TRANSLATION OF LETTER DATED GENEVA AUGUST 12th.1924. FROM MONSIEUR ALBERT SCHMIDT. Dear Sirs, re. Chassis 66-LK.{L. King} H.H. Abbas Hilmi. In the month of June last, the rim of one of the straight-sided wheels of this car came off, causing the car to skid. His Highness has asked us to give him information on this subject, and we informed him that this thing appeared to us to be almost impossible, that it must surely have been caused by a small defect in the wheel, or through a shock. He, however, confirmed to us, that there had been no shock. Last week, the same thing occurred on the same car. His Highness has requested us to change these wheels immediately for beaded edge type wheels, whichw we have done. We are very badly placed to clear up this question, and we feel sure that His Highness will not accept any invoice for this changeover of wheels, or else he will pay and will be upset. As he is on the point of ordering a new chassis, will you kindly inform us whether you would agree to accept this charge. It concerns six beaded-edge wheels and six Dunlop 895 x 135 tyres, and the taking back of six straight-sided wheels and 6 old tyres, 33 x 5. Awaiting the favour of your reply, Yours etc. [STAMP TEXT] RECEIVED 14 AUG 1924 | ||
